Contact SUSAR

The State Urban Search and Rescue Alliance is a consortium of over 40 state US&R programs. SUSAR is not a rescue team but an association of teams to represent the needs of US&R organizations on the national level, as well as sharing ideas and training opportunities through our network.

Furthermore, SUSAR embraces the National Incident Management System and the National Response Framework, but since SUSAR is not a response asset, we do not fall into a category. We, however, define our membership by the NIMS resource typing: only governmentally sanctioned US&R task forces or collapse rescue teams as described in the 508-8 document are permitted to be members of SUSAR.

Team Membership Information

If you are a representative of an existing team or are a team under development that meets the criteria of an urban search and rescue task force or a collapse rescue team as defined by the NIMS Search and Rescue Resource Typing document, and are interested in joining our organization, please contact us at info@susar.org for more information.

Individual Membership Information

If you are an individual who is interested in participating in a US&R asset, we strongly recommend contacting the legally responsible agency for coordinating urban search and rescue in your state.
