Canine Search Specialist Course

Description:

Join our comprehensive Canine Search Specialist Course (CSST), a dynamic blend of Computer-Based Training and hands-on Instructor-Led Training (ILT) tailored for Canine Search Specialists and mandatory for FEMA Search Team Managers. As a valuable addition to the SUSAR Pre-conference lineup, we’re thrilled to offer the ILT segment of the CSST. Additionally, participants can opt for a SUSAR Type 1 Certification Evaluation for both Live Find (LF) and Human Remains Detection (HRD) teams, regardless of CSST attendance. This FEMA Equivalent Course is accessible to Federal, State, and Regional US&R Task Force Members.

This course is designed for canine handlers preparing to collaborate with Live-Find (LF) or Human Remains Detection (HRD) canines in search and rescue missions, integral to Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Force (TF) operations. Upon finishing the course, participants will possess the skills necessary to proficiently serve as a Canine Search Specialist within a US&R team.

This course is 24 hours of face-to-face training. Prior to attending this face-to-face training course, students must successfully complete the Computer-Based Training (CBT) Canine Search Specialist course (Course Code: 9P1330) that is approximately 16 hours.
