Canine Certification Evaluation-Live Find

The West Chicago Fire Department, in partnership with IL-TF1, is hosting open Certification Evaluations* for Live-Find (LF) disaster search & rescue teams in Chicago, IL on October 9-10, 2021. Medical Team Training Course

FEMA’s National Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) Response System Medical Team Specialist(MTS) Course is being presented by Disaster Medical Solutions (DMS) at Florida State Fire College Training Center in Ocala. This equivalent course delivery is strictly structured under FEMA standards and curriculum, designed to fulfill the initial training requirements for Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Medical Specialist and Medical Team Managers. This course meets all of the requirements for US&R Medical Team Training. Team deployments, medical operations, health/safety, confined space medical and rescue techniques are addressed. Structures Specialist (StS) Regional Training Course

On behalf of the National US&R Response System, in conjunction with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), a Structures Specialist (StS) “Regional Training” (RT) Course will be held on July 24, 2021.

This training course is offered to StS personnel who need initial or refresher training in Damaged Building Assessment, Shoring Size-up/Design, Survey 123, Precast/Prestressed/Post-tensioned Concrete review, and Dam/Levee assessments during an US&R response. Students who completed StS1 training and any previous RT training are highly encouraged to attend this RT “skills enhancement” session. This training will sharpen and add to knowledge that will enhance System capabilities and readiness. The regional training curriculum is updated and revised every two years, and this will be the fifth opportunity to receive the unique topics presented for the 2020-2021 Version 6.  See additional information and registration details below.

EMAP Virtual Cohort Training

Due to COVID-19, EMAP has transitioned the EMAP US&R Standard 2-2019 to a virtual environment. The Virtual EMAP US&R Standard 2-2019 Cohort Training is four (4) weeks in length, requiring the participation of attendees in one (1) afternoon session and small group work weekly. The Virtual EMAP US&R Standard 2-2019 Cohort Training will occur on January 7, 21, 28, and February 4, 2021 from 12-5pm EST.
