Notice of Election - May 2022
The SUSAR Board of Directors is seeking interested candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. An election will be held during the annual meeting on May 17, 2022 at the upcoming SUSAR Conference in Columbia, South Carolina. The term of office shall be three (3) years.
Individuals interested in serving on the SUSAR Board of Directors shall submit the candidate information form to the SUSAR Election Committee. Forms shall be submitted by COB on Friday May 6, 2022.
The SUSAR Election Committee will compile the information forms and distribute an election ballot prior to the Conference. The ballot will also include information on the candidates seeking a term. Candidates do not need to be present in person at the conference to be elected.
New members of the Board of Directors will be expected to begin engagement in person or virtually during the conference and at subsequent meetings and matters of the Board.

US&R Medical Team Training
May 12-15, 2022, a National Urban Search & Rescue FEMA US&R Response System Medical Team Specialist (MTS) Course is being presented at the South Carolina Fire Academy US&R Training Center in Columbia. By request of UT-TF1 this equivalent course EQ#2022-007 is strictly structured under FEMA curriculum standards and designed to fulfill initial training requirements for Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Medical Specialist (Medic) and Medical Team Managers (Physicians).
2022 SUSAR-MSOC Conference
Registration is now open for the 2022 SUSAR_MSOC Conference scheduled for May 12-19, 2022 in Columbia, SC. Things kick off with a US&R Medical Team Training course and two days of outstanding pre-conference training at the South Carolina Fire Academy, before the main conference at the Double Tree Hotel in Columbia, SC. IAFC US&R Committee
The International Association of Fire Chiefs has appointed an Urban Search & Rescue Committee. This committee will provide a link between all levels of response with the common goal of recognizing a national response capability across the U.S. It will develop a collection of search and rescue-type resources that are available for all levels of response.
